Mixed Animal Print Cardigan!
10:30 AMI can tell you right off the bat that this is the statement piece that will be most worn this year. I'm already in love with this cardigan. And as we all know, animal print is a neutral, so this is going to pair with EVERYTHING in my closet.
This is a modified version of the Mimi G Style Annie Cardigan.
The Show Me Your Mumu Out and About Cardigan is my inspiration for this.
In order to achieve my inspiration look, the Annie Cardigan was a great jump off point. I lengthened the whole thing by 15".
I needed to add some volume to the sleeves to give them that slight balloon or bishop style.
I took the sleeve pattern piece and used the slash and spread method to get the fullness. I opened it up using a 1.5 to 1 ratio.
I decided to keep that extra wide lower band detail. I really like the way it looks.
I took 5" off the wristband because I wanted a really snug fit. I used a slip stitch for my patch pockets. I didn't want any topstitching to be visible. And I added the the sweater knit to the top of the pockets.
My fabric is Mixed Animal Scuba Crepe Jacquard from Zelouf Fabrics.
My trim is Kristen Cut Sew Sweater Knit from Zelouf Fabrics.
