Style Arc Patterns Astoria Knit Dress!

So, I'm really into comfortable t-shirt style knit dresses. And this Style Arc Astoria Knit Dress is the perfect elevated t-shirt dress.
My fabric is Tie Dye Brushed Knit Poly Spandex from Fashion by the Yard. It's super soft. It washed and dried without pilling. That's always a great sign when dealing with knit fabrics.
And it cut and sewed really well. I used a ballpoint needle and my walking foot on my Baby Lock Aventura II.
I cut the size 14, and lengthened the dress by 3 inches. Lengthening lines are included on the pattern pieces.
Style Arc is known for having pretty scant instructions. But this is a pretty simple dress and they included a diagram showing how the pieces are joined. 
I like how the waist ties are drafted. One side is drapey and the other is sewn into the side seam.
I plan to make this one again in a solid color.

This is a great dress and it looks wonderful on your enviable curvy figure. I may be buying my first Style Arc pattern. Your blog comes to me in my email but today the pics were so huge I couldn't see the text. Anyway, nice post and very nice dress.

DeleteI think that's the most flattering dress you've ever made - and that's saying something, you make beautiful clothes. And I have to say that I love seeing how patterns work with your curves, my figure is similar, so I find myself looking to see whether you've sewn a pattern so I can get a preview - curves for the win!
