This top is Simplicity 8455. I decided to used Red Ticking Stripe Cotton Seersucker from Mood Fabrics.com. It makes a wonderful and interesting shirting fabric.
I cut View C. I used the size 12 with the D cup. I love when patterns come pre-sized with cup sizing. It saves a lot of steps from having to do a FBA. So, no adjustments were needed. It is even long enough to tuck right out of the envelope.
Being that this fabric is 100% cotton, it cut and sewed like a dream.
This fabric worked well with a lightweight fusible interfacing in places like the facing and the cuffs.
And if you’re using a design that has neck binding,
you definitely want a fabric that will go with the flow.
And the necktie makes a perfect accessory since a necklace isn’t needed!
And speaking of accessories, I was sent these fabulous sunglasses from a new company called Eye Desired.

Thank you Body Design!
DeletePretty top, you do really nice work. I am wondering tho how comfortable it is to wear. There seems to be quite a bit of bunching above the bust at the arm seam. I have had that issue and it drives me nuts.
ReplyDeleteAs you see I have my arms extended forward and I also did my makeup while wearing the top and it barely came untucked. So pretty comfortable! Thanks aireal!
