So the new McCall's Patterns are up. Let's go ahead and start with my favorite: M7366 - Jumpsuit. I love that this one is instantly an evening look. I've mentioned before that sometimes, I just don't want to wear a skirt or a dress and a jumpsuit fits the bill.
It also comes in a romper style as well that would look great in a polished dressy fabric worn with heels or a casual fabric paired with a flat sandal.
And there is also a more "bra-friendly" version.
While I was recently purging my closet, I found that I have a need for tops for spring. I love silk blouses that I can throw on with jeans and shorts. So here are my picks to start filling that wardrobe gap:
I love the details of M7357 with the sleeve slits.
I'm a fan of sleeve tabs and shirt tails. So M7360 is a winner also. And I most definitely plan to make the full sleeve so I can still wear this blouse come fall.
And I love the flowy, kimono-style of M7362.
What do you like?
I never find the releases inspiring and am glad people like you blog them. I am really digging that last top / tunic. I've had a tunic traced from Burda and made my alterations to the pattern. But, just never got around to sewing it up.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way. Sometimes I'm not moved by a pattern until someone else points it out.
DeleteI bought some jumpsuit patterns too. our office dress code was tightened up and I'm hoping to make an alternative to dresses.
ReplyDeleteThat bra-friendly version would be great for the office.
DeleteI was so excited to see all the casual tops in this release!
ReplyDeleteI like them too. And just what I'm needing right now.
DeleteI really like the jumpsuit. I just finished up Mccalls 7203 ( your make of this pattern was one of the few that I could find online and I loved it!) and now I want to make all the jumpsuits!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a fun one. I wore it so much last year.
DeleteI was excited to see a popover (placket shirt) so quickly in the catalogue when I've just started notices them in the stores.
ReplyDeleteI see them in stores too from Vince and Joie. I love that I can make my own instead of spending a couple of hundred bucks on a silk blouse.
DeleteAs soon as I saw 7366, I thought of you! I also like 7357.
ReplyDeleteI do love a jumpsuit! And 7357 has cup sizing!
DeleteIf I were to make a jumpsuit, I would definitely make the bra friendly version since I am very busty. Love M7357 - the style lines provides many opportunities for fit and seems like a silhouette that is flattering for many figures. I look forward to your creations!
ReplyDeleteAnd it has cup sizing! You can tweak a perfect fit!
DeleteCup sizing??!! Hurray!! I will definitely be getting this pattern. Thank you so very much for bringing it to my (our) attention!
DeleteThese tops seem more interesting that others I've seen in prior McCalls selections. Of the three you've posted about, I like the M7357. I can see myself making that with some lightweight cotton lawn cloth in some sort of quasi-tropical print
ReplyDeleteThese are definitely good picks to choose from!
DeleteNice pattern inspirations. I do like the M7357 one the best. Even more so as you indicated in a comment that it has bust sizing-now what's not to like.
ReplyDeleteThat just makes everything better!
DeleteI love a great tunic.. I live in them.. Great post..
ReplyDeleteSame here! Thanks Tanielle!
DeleteThe jumpsuit I can certainly see you in this. I love the sleeve's the top
ReplyDeleteI like 7360. I could see that in a vibrant African print.
