So I made another jumpsuit. What can I say? I love them. It's the holiday season and sometimes I just want something to throw on that's a complete no-brainer. This New Look 6413 jumpsuit for me, meets the description of "Dressy Casual". It works for a day party or cocktail hour.
I used some kind of black crepe poly from Hancock. They weight of the fabric was perfect. Drapey enough for this style, yet opague enough that special underpinnings weren't necessary. I cut a size 14. I added an inch to the bodice and 2 inches to the pant length.
The jumpsuit has dolman sleeves and a front invisible zipper that extends to the elastic waist. Which makes getting in and out of it a breeze.
The pants have elasticized leg openings, but only in the back.
It's an interesting and new-to-me design technique.
I love the idea of a non-knit jumpsuit, and this one is so easy to wear. I want a red jumpsuit and I think it I find the perfect weight red fabric, I'll make it soon.
Styling tip: For a daytime dressy casual look, I wore my bejeweled turban that I picked up from a local boutique. I love the vintage glam that it gave the jumpsuit. I accessorized with this month's Rocksbox pieces: Kendra Scott Dee Earrings in Black; Gorjana Bali Lariat Necklace...
And the Slate Half Pave Traingles Bracelet.
