Review: Vogue 8879 | The 'Not-so-plain‘ White T-shirt!
12:30 PM
I've never been a t-shirt kinda girl. If I'm going to wear a white knit top, it better have some kind of interesting detail about it.
Like this one! I love the back of this shirt. This is Vogue 8879 - view B. It's an open back drape top.
It was very easy to sew and I only had to add an inch to the length. And I decided to omit the sleeve bands and just have a plain cap sleeve.
I added clear elastic to stabilize the neckline and the shoulder seams. Because I could easily see the lightweight rayon spandex knit stretching out of place.
The fabric was perfect for this style of top. Because you need to use a knit fabric with significant drape.
And I love how effortlessly it paired with my sequin pencil skirt from Asos.com and my DV by Dolce Vita sandals.
And with my printed pants and Steve Madden pumps.

My favorite is in between -- a stretch woven. You get a beautifully tailored garment with comfort! Thanks Little G!
DeleteI love it!!!! A nice looking t-shirt, you wear it well with both the printed pants and skirt. What fabric is the skirt made from, and what pattern is the skirt?
ReplyDeleteThanks Patricia! I referenced that the skirt is RTW.
Deleteooooohhhh I get scared sewing t-shirts!! I don't know why?!! I guess its because its so simple that it has to be perfect and then I get intimidated. I've sewn 3 tshirts and the came out pretty well, but I always get nervous thinking about sewing them. The drape is a very interesting touch!
