I used a Ralph Lauren silk crepe de chine from Mood Fabrics. It's listed as "purple". I like to refer to it as "aubergine". It's a pretty deep purple that looks almost navy or eggplant... depending on the lighting. This fabric is gorgeous and it was a dream to work with. And the drape is incredible.
The alterations I made were to do a one inch FBA on the the bodice and I added two inches to the skirt portion.
The pattern didn't suggest a lining. But there was no way I was going to use this beautiful silk crepe de chine without lining it. I can't imagine how it would've hung without one.
I love how the silk fabric behaved when cut for the ruffles. The ruffles just hung and fell into place by the next day.
Here are my accessories and my new nail color: OPI "Suzi and the 7 Düsseldorfs".
Since Fall has finally fallen, I added a black jacket.
Yet another gorgeous dress, this shade of purple is beautiful! Love the ruffle detail and the one sleeve. That necklace is fab, too.
