What I'm Wearing | Denim, Peplum + Leopard

I was looking through pictures here on the blog and I realized that it's been a while since I'd had on a pair of jeans.  So I thought I'd do something about that today.
So I broke out the skinnies and threw on a peplum top.  I've really been enjoying the "cooler" temps this week.  Because a month ago, I wouldn't have even considered putting on jeans and going out during "the heat of the day".
I've been sewing all week, but not for me.  I've been working on Mikaela's homecoming dress because the homecoming dance is Saturday night.  I used Simplicity 1876.
From Instagram.

It's not a difficult pattern at all.  But there were a million pieces to cut out.  And I somehow broke the zipper last night.  Sigh... So I had to make a mad dash to Jo-Ann's right before closing time.  Good thing I live so close.  But anyway... I can't wait until she's all dolled up on Saturday so I can share the review and the pictures!

Wearing:  Top:  Vogue 8815; jeans: The Gap; pumps: calf-hair leopard print slingbacks from DSW; purse: Urban Expressions.

  1. Great look. I had been thinking about your peplum, thinking I might try a faux leather one. Did you line any part of your top, or maybe just the leather part???

  4. See now, why can't i find skinnes like that? Everything i find is like a second skin from thighs to ankle and just to get them to fit not so damn tight i have to buy 3 sizes up *sigh*
You already know you're fly and I love your hair (read: jealous)

  6. Sassy and cute. The leopard heel punctuates the outfit. You always look so polished.

  7. I'd totally overlooked this pattern, but after the two versions I've seen today, I'm saying wow. It looks great in leather.

  9. Can't wait to see Mikaela in her dress! That is super cute. I am currently working on a dress with lace overlay (my first) and it is driving me INSANE!

As usual you look great. I love that peplum blouse. I have the pattern but haven't attacked it yet.

  14. She looks great in her dress. How special to have a one of a kind and well-fitting dress for the occasion. Either you are both naturals or she has learned great posing from you!

    1. Thanks for reading. But flattery will not make me stop what I'm doing to search for YOUR fabric. I'm not a walking rolodex of fabric inventory. I'd have to look for it just like you can do. New to sewing or not, you have to know when you're making an UNREASONABLE request.

    1. Then when you see something you like or may be interested in buying, you order swatches!
