Review: OOP Vogue 2540 | One-shoulder Top!
3:00 AM
This is OOP Vogue 2540 from the Donna Karan Collection - Spring 2000.
Amazing how something 12 years old can STILL be so relevant! That's why Donna Karan has always been fabulous and known for knowing how to fit a "woman's" body and why her designs are timeless!
I needed something to wear out that would be appropriate for a nightclub atmosphere, but I wanted to still look chic and sophisticated. I remembered that I had been saving this pattern for the right moment. I don't know why I hadn't at least sewn the top. I really think I was concentrating on the skirt so much that the entire pattern had fallen by the wayside. And I really wanted a reason to pull out this great sequined pencil skirt.
That's when I rethought this pattern for the top. It paired perfectly with my skirt!
This was a simple project to make. I made it the same day I planned to wear it. The back and front are one solid pattern piece in which you are to cut two. I sewed both pieces, right sides together. Then I sewed the side seams with the serger. Voila! I was done! See, simple!Wearing: Skirt: ASOS Sequined Pencil Skirt (last seen here); shoes: Zara; belt: Kenneth Jay Lane (similar to this); purse: Urban Expressions.

Absolutely fantastic. Absolutely love the skirt and sounds like it would be easier enough for even me to make if it wasn't OOP lol.
