What I'm Wearing | White Peplum + Khaki!

12:00 AM

Here is my second version of Vogue 8815.
I've been seeing white peplum tops all over the place.  And I'm so glad that Vogue came out with this pattern so that I could indulge for the second time!
On this top, I used a stretch cotton pique from Hancock and an invisible zipper.  I made my own binding for the neckline and armholes broadcloth that I already had.  I had to lengthen at the waistline by an inch.  It's fascinating how different fabrics react to the same size pattern.
I'm loving my coral colored polish this week!
Yes, I bought these Old Navy shorts in every color!  Love them!  They're perfect for summer!
Wearing:  top: Vogue 8815; shorts: Old Navy; pumps: Sam Edelman; purse: Stylecraft Miami (vintage); necklace: BCBG Max Azria.

  1. Your fitting is always amazing (as is your nail colour too!) I love working with pique, I didn´t know the stretch version existed.
No wonder you bought those shorts in every colour! They are perfect for summer!

  4. Fab-U-lous look Erica! This is another pattern I must try. FYI Kristin Wiig wore a top that was a sleeveless view C of this pattern with a matching skirt in her farewell dance/skit on SNL last Saturday. I was intrigued and wondered who designed it.

  5. The top is great on you. I am glad to see it made up as I bought this pattern in my size and my dd's. The pattern says that the waist is 1" above the waist. Is that where yours is after lengthening?

  8. Hi Erica I love the top I saw it on Pinterest . I follow you also. I am thinking about the pattern thanks for posting. Shilloute patterns has a similar pattern. So I am on the fence which pattern to get. The top looks great on you. I do have one question did you have to make any other alterations beside the waist? I know I will have to make a FBA and now a waist. So how would you rate the pattern as far as fit besides the waist alteration. It seems like I have problems with vogue patterns and fit thanks for sharing. You have great style!!!

  11. I love both your peplum tops - they're so chic and fabulous on you!
I made one of these recently but I hadn't realised the waist had intentionally been raised an inch - no wonder it seemed short waisted then! D'oh!
