Today was a looonnnggg day! So if I'm looking greasy a little shinier than usual, that's why. These photos were taken at the end of the day as I was making my way back home.
It felt good to sit down, even if it were just for a few minutes and enjoy the breeze!
It was such a gorgeous day that I decided to play with some color. One thing about reading style blogs and being on Pinterest, is that I see a lot of things that I probably wouldn't have ever thought to do. Orange and green? Sure if you attend Florida A&M University and it also works if you're a carrot or a pumpkin! But for color blocking? Who would've thought? I actually love them together!
Wearing: cardigan from Windsor; top: Vogue 1282; jeans: NYDJ; sandals: Zara; clutch: Street Style from Lotus Boutique; necklace: BCBG Max Azria; sunnies: Karen Walker.
You look super fab Erica. I always love how you mix colors. That clutch is gorgeous.

DeleteYou look fantastic Erica! I'm going to have to keep a mental note for this color combo. It is fierce!
ReplyDeletethanks Candice!
DeleteYou look amazing! I love colors yet always seem to wear black or drab. :( I am going to try even harder to bring color in my life :) By the way, do you use weight for the top as the pattern suggest? I didn't for mine since I don't know where to find one or how it looks like... Any idea?
ReplyDeleteFar, I used a penny. It worked fine for me. Thanks!
DeleteOooh soooo pretty! I have to go dig in my clost for orange and teal, too.
ReplyDeleteLooking great as usual. I just love my NYDJ's.
ReplyDeleteAndrea, they are the best jeans ever! Thanks!
DeleteYears ago, when I was a teen, my mother would suggest these types of color combinations to me, and I thought she was crazy. For me, everything had to MATCH! Boy, was I wrong. Who knew is was actually cool color-blocking. Sorry Mom, and thanks Erica for showing us the ways of a true fashionista!
ReplyDeleteWait! What? Weight in the top? What and where?
ReplyDeleteDiane, the cowl neckline is stitched down the center and it is suggested that a "weight" is used. I used a penny. Thanks!

DeleteI attended Florida A&M, so the combination always works for me! LOL! I love your interpretation. May have to rock it for homecoming!
ReplyDeleteToni that would be a great look for homecoming! Thanks!
DeleteLove the colors, very very cute and not really sure how you managed to keep the the white jeans white all day :)
ReplyDeleteTrust me, by the end of the day they were ready for the washer! Thanks Beaute Jadore!
DeleteI like those colors against your skin! On me, with my great big ol' red face, I'd look like a walking tossed salad of lettuce, carrot and tomato, lol. Glad that there are color combinations for all of us, and glad to see you looking so fresh and summery in this one.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thanks LinB!
DeleteColor, color and more color! Fully inspired for the summer- thanks dear!
ReplyDeleteThanks SilkyWrapsRoxy!
DeleteErica, you have a lot of great looks...this is my favorite on you! It's so pretty, hot, sexy, trendy and all with a very classic flair! What more could a girl ask for! Outstanding!
ReplyDeleteThanks Myra!
DeleteLove Love your blog. I look here everyday to get ideas from you. By looking at your blog, I am learning to step outside the box. Your colors and style -- just great. After this one, I found some beautiful orange sandles (never ever wear this color) and put it together with turquoise and white. Love it. Thanks for your inspirations.
ReplyDeleteGood for you Beth! Thanks for reading!
DeleteI had to smile at your FAMU shout out. I went to FSU so FAMU colors were everywhere as well. For some reason I think FAMU does orange and green wayyyy better than Miami. I think it's the ratio of green to orange, but maybe it's just school pride.
ReplyDeleteYes, FAMU does rep those colors well!
DeleteI love how you color block!! Great look, dear... :)
