Review: McCall's 6362 | Mariner Striped Romper!
11:00 PM
I hope everyone had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend! We did! On Saturday while checking out the patterns that were on sale, Mikaela saw this romper/jumpsuit pattern and asked me to make it for her.
View A was perfect for her! She picked the same fabric that I used for my dress. I cut the size XS - size 4, and it fit her straight out of the envelope.
We decided to add an exposed zipper as a fun little detail.
Here's the close-up.
I started to omit the sash, but after it was finished it looked like it needed something at the waist. So I went ahead and made it too.
This is such a cute and easy summer piece. I may make her another one because she really loves this!
silly girl!
Wearing: romper: McCall's 6362; shoes: Toms Glitter Slip-ons; jewelry: Forever 21 and Tiffany & Co.

ReplyDeleteWhat a joy to see family love their outfits so much. Can't wait to see what you make for your grandbaby.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea! I'm not a fan of sewing clothes that small, so I prefer shopping for her! LOL

DeleteI love the romper. The zipper detail is perfect. She has blossomed into a beautiful young lady. Seems like she was just a little girl.
ReplyDeleteDr. Reginia, it does seem like she grew over night! Thanks!
DeleteReally cute! I am making my second one for myself. It's a great simple but cute pattern. I like the exposed zipper idea. I think on number two I will use that idea! She looks great - kids always seam to get older yet I don't age at all! (LOL!!)
ReplyDeleteLOL thanks Carol!
DeleteThis is so cute on her! I really like the zipper detail and the sash, I could even see it with a sash of a different color for a little pop. Perfect for summer!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherita!
DeleteShe Looks Adorable! My Dgtr is finding out what I did in the 70's that RTW rompers and jumpsuits are not made for us tall girls you gotta makem yourself to get the right fit. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat was always the issue for me Joen. Thanks!
DeleteShe's so cute. Lucky girl to have a mom willing to sew "regular" clothes for her. Rocking Forever 21 with Tiffany & Co., loves it!
ReplyDeleteLove it. She is just precious.

DeleteThis is a really cute outfit. I feel inspired to make something now :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Aryelle!
ReplyDeleteThis is super cute and I love the zipper! Do you have an online source where you get your metal zips? I imagine it needs to be super light weight to work with a knit fabric so a metal jacket zip wouldn't quite do the job.
ReplyDeletestrangertobluewater, I used this kind of zipper and I buy them at Joann's and Hancock Fabrics.
