It's the X-factor for clothes! Advertisers pay to sponsor the show, and the show advertises that clothes that are for sale. Revenue streams from every direction.
I can really respect the fact that their core focus is "real clothes for real people". I want to see things that are "bra-friendly" that look great on women with breasts.
It's already on my DVR schedule. I'm thrilled that this series is going to focus on clothes that would sell in stores. I may not be their target customer...ok, I AM not their target customer but I still enjoy seeing new wearable fashion trends.
Oh, yes I will be watching! I tape it the night of the show and watch it while I am on the treadmill in the AM!! Looking forward to getting some inspiration!
Darn I missed it! I'll try to look for it on my computer ad watch it this weekend. I'm looking forward to Project Runway Allstars tomorrow night though!
I didn't like this show much. Didn't know what to expect, but didn't really hold my attention. I like the Project Runway & 24 Hr Catwalk format much better.
Aye yi yi this show! Not sure how I feel out it yet. The premise feels overly complex (sort of American Idol, Shark Tank and Project Runway all rolled into one.) Loved the buyers though; gimlet-eyed, tough as nails – this is where the power really resides in the fashion industry. I did laugh out loud when the designers would listen carefully only to the mentors and then talk smack to the buyers, who have THE MONEY. Wake up people. I’ll tune in again for sure although the show I really like is “24 Hour Catwalk” because there are professional sewers in that show.
Erica, I am a newbie to your blog and LOVE it! I missed Fashion Star, but I saw something pretty awesome last night. Patterns from the show's designers will be available @ McCalls online starting 4/1/12. http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/fashion-star-pages-3382.php
