I can't wait to see your next hankerchief dress. I did not see the price of the dresses at first sight, they are a big incentive to grab the sewing machine or the needle. Btw, I love your review of the sewing book in April so much that I purchased it. And I love that book. Thanks for shzring it.
Have just been evaluating my pattern stash for summer sewing, and came across at least three patterns from the early 80s with handkerchief hems. I wasn't brave enough to wear them then, but have lately become a member of the "It Don't Matter" club. I can't stand the thought of my fat old torso in the disco-era spaghetti-strapped tiny bodices, but I will definitely steal the skirts and attach them to something more age-appropriate. Thanks for reminding me of this style, which is ultra-feminine without being icky-poo frou-frou.

I prefer the maxi length hankerchief hemline. I love the black and white evening number.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting a dress with a hemline like this for a while now. If I EVER get my mojo back, I might go for it lol.
ReplyDeleteMake one! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

ReplyDeleteI'll be keeping my eyes open to see what you post in the very near future :)
ReplyDeleteM6199 is another cute option.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about making a dress with this hemline from a silk sari. I think I will try it. I can't wait to see what you make.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful especially the last one!
ReplyDeleteErica - What a lovely surprise to open my new Vogue Patterns magazine, and see your article in there. Well done!
